Supporters XIII 16 Warrington began what promises to be another successful summer campaign with a gritty and gutsy performance away at Wigan. With the club contemplating applying for North West Counties status for the forth coming winter season, this game was the acid test against opponents who have dominated the IMBRL scene since its formation. On Sunday only a moment of controversy cost the Wolves with a late Wigan try proving the difference after the referee called a ball steal and then allowed a quick Wigan tap with the Warrington defence stranded. Prior to that the Wolves had looked good value for a win with tries from Adam Williams, Paul Arnison and Andy Hawley but it wasn’t to be and the Wolves must still take heart from a great display.
