Local rivals Warrington and Rylands clashed at Hood Lane with the visitors claiming all four points in an eagerly contested match in North West Counties Division 6.

With the weather playing havoc with the fixture system both teams decided to play the game as two fixtures on a Hood Lane pitch that in truth resembled a swamp.

IMBRL started the game in dominant fashion registering three unconverted tries to one via Steve Brown and Liam O’Brien (2). With no extras added from conversions the home side went in at the break with a 12-4 advantage.

The Sharks came out on the fire in the second-half to register 14 unanswered points that ultimately saw them win the contest. IMBRL had chances themselves but failed to take their opportunities and also had two tries disallowed by the match official.

The Sharks scored tries via Jimmy Harrison (2) and Mark Martin (2) whilst man of the match for the home side was O’Brien.
